ICBC offers 60-minute evaluation lessons as part of their Driver’s Training program. These lessons are for new or experienced drivers to use to help them assess their skill levels. The ICBC certified driving instructors will be able to not only give the new driver a chance to see what has worked and has not worked when it comes to driving defensively and how that affects safety, but they can also help new drivers decide what training options will help them earn their license or improve on their skills.

10 Abilities and Skills required to become a safe driver:

Be responsible and reliable.
Keep in mind that speeding doesn't save time
Know which side the fuel cap is on
Keep alert
Understand the road rules
Practice self-discipline
Be patient

Primary focus areas are:

Purchasing your first vehicle
Route planning and giving directions
Introduction to basic vehicle maintenance
Parking
Highway & freeway driving
Preparing for a successful class 5 road test, after the class 7N stage
